Epiphone Prophecy SG Custom GX Electric Guitar
The Prophecy SG Custom GX electric guitar is a fine representative of the SG guitar model but with the added bonus of a few modern improvements. The Epiphone Prophecy SG Custom GX features an SG shaped mahogany body with quilt maple top; a mahogany SpeedTaper neck with satin finish; 24 jumbo frets; LockTone tune-o-matic bridge and tail-piece; all new Straplocks (patent pending); and two Gibson Dirty Finger pickups. The Prophecy SG is a striking guitar that includes unique “blade” inlays, gold hardware and Grover tuners – known for their tuning stability. The cutaway mahogany body gives the Prophecy SG GX superb resonance and a wonderfully rich tone. The Prophecy SG CX represents high-quality craftsmanship as is the case with all Epiphone Custom guitars.
The Prophecy SG features a Speed-Taper mahogany neck and 24-fret ebony fingerboard that is lightning-fast and silky smooth to allow for supreme playability. The Epiphone Prophecy SG also features the innovative LockTone tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar. This system allows every vibration of the strings to move through the guitar body, greatly enhancing the tone and sustain. It also makes string changes a breeze and allows for the intonation on individual strings to be adjusted.
The SG Prophecy features Gibson Dirty Finger pickups that are celebrated for their transparency and volume. With the Gibson Dirty Finger pickups on board the *Epiphone Prophecy SG has sweet, clear highs and deep, chunky lows. These humbucker pickups are notable performers when it comes to output and response. The guitar has a good range of tonal options due the coil-splitting on both pickups.
