The dry climate in winter or environments can cause serious damage to acoustic guitars in the form of cracks in the wood. This damage may require expensive repair or reduce the sound quality of your instrument well.
One way to provide extra moisture to your guitar is through a device known as a guitar humidifier. These devices are designed to release moisture inside the guitar through hole of sound. Sound-hole humidifiers all use some type of water tank with an absorbing medium like a sponge, absorbing water or floral foam hydrophilic polymer. The medium is then surrounded by some type of cover that contains water as a means absorber in place and limit the movement of aquatic evaporation.
